NextGreen developed the action plan for the National Roof Plan, aimed at promoting multifunctional roofs nationwide. 

Context

Following on from the Green Deal Green Roofs, NextGreen developed the action plan for the National Roof Plan 2020-2023. This emphasizes the importance of a multifunctional design of the roof landscape in order to achieve more impact than just focusing on roofs for solar panels. Our roof landscape also offers solutions for nature, heat stress, flooding, health, and pressure on space utilization.

Objective

National promotion of multifunctional roofs, by:

• Encouraging a broader mindset
• Embedding in policy
• Incentive financing models
• Skilled professionals and innovation

Process approach

With this action plan, the partners of the National Roof Plan invite others to join in and work together to further develop and realize the agenda. The plan is indicative in nature and offers scope for adjustment based on monitoring and current developments. Together towards more and better multifunctional use of Dutch roofs!
