Context
Smartly designed green roofs offer many advantages. They generate profits for water boards, municipalities, building owners, users, neighbors, insurers, and mortgage lenders. The Green Deal Green Roofs is all about stacking profits on the roof.
The fact sheet lists the roof performance of the various types of green-blue roofs: sedum roofs, natural roofs, garden roofs, and green-blue roofs. The figures relating to costs and benefits, cooling, water storage, biodiversity, and (additional) outdoor space are clearly presented.
Approach and activities
This fact sheet was compiled by Green Deal Green Roofs partners: the municipality of Rotterdam, Nelen & Schuurmans, Van der Tol, and the Association of Building Greeners in collaboration with STOWA / COP Measuring and Monitoring Green-Blue Roofs.
With this fact sheet, STOWA and the Green Deal aim to stimulate discussion among all stakeholders involved in green roofs, with the goal of ensuring more and better green-blue roofs.
