One year after its establishment, the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation has published its first annual report. The report covers the period from the launch of the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge in 2020 to the end of 2021.

Increase in signatories

The annual report shows a significant increase in the number of signatories to the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge. After the Pledge was launched in September 2020, the number of signatories rose rapidly from 26 financial institutions at the start to 84 in December 2021.

Growing movement

“After just one year, we are witnessing a growing movement; biodiversity is on the agenda at financial institutions of all sizes and types around the world,” says Anne-Marie Bor of NextGreen and co-coordinator of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation in the annual report.

Activities and achievements

The report also provides insight into the activities and achievements of the working groups of the members of the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation.
