A shared vision and action plan for transparency around natural and social capital emerged from interviews and a broad meeting with companies, accountants, and policymakers.

Context

Towards a society in which the accounting of natural and social capital is no longer in the red. Leading Dutch companies and accountants signed the declaration of intent 'Working together on transparency of Natural and Social Capital' at the Nature Summit 2013 with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, MVO Nederland, IUCN NL, and True Price. They agreed to work together to develop a vision and action program to increase transparency.

Making the contribution of natural and social capital more transparent by:

  • Joint vision and action program
Process approach

Based on interviews with the participants and a broader meeting, the participants determined a joint strategy and developed a vision and action program. The participants entered into a Green Deal with each other for joint implementation.
