Guide with guidelines and information for the financial sector on engaging with companies on biodiversity. We created this guide with members of the Finance & Biodiversity Community and the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation.

Guide with guidelines and information for the financial sector on engaging with companies on biodiversity. We created this guide with members of the Finance & Biodiversity Community and the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation.

Context

Financial institutions have an impact on biodiversity through the companies they finance. Engaging in dialogue with these companies is an important strategy for reducing biodiversity loss. That is why 'engaging with companies' is one of the five commitments set out in the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge. This new guide provides guidelines and information for engaging in dialogue with companies about biodiversity.

Approach and activities

The guide is based on practical experience and enriched with case studies from financial institutions. The authors are six active members of the Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation and the Finance & Biodiversity (F&B) Community, part of the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform.
