Six months after the launch of the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge, the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation was established. The aim of this foundation is to support the call to action and cooperation between signatories to the Pledge. The goal of the call to governments and cooperation is to reverse the global loss of biodiversity by 2030 at the latest. The new foundation aims to accelerate cooperation around the commitments in the Pledge.

We are starting with working groups on impact assessment, engagement with companies, and advocacy towards governments. Next year, additional working groups will follow on positive impact and setting goals. We are also setting up two committees that will work on expanding the number of signatories to the Pledge and reporting on progress. Each working group will explore opportunities for collaboration with other initiatives working toward the same goals. By connecting with existing networks and expertise, we aim to accelerate progress. The foundation will also establish an Advisory Board to provide strategic advice on collaboration.
