Anne-Marie Bor of NextGreen participated in the Biodiversity Summit in Montreal, Canada, in her coordinating role for the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation. Anne-Marie is the coordinator and board member of the FfB Foundation, together with Anita de Horde. At this summit, which was held from December 7 to 19, global negotiations took place on new biodiversity targets.

Unique opportunity

The Foundation held several side events and managed its own stand at the event. The Foundation also co-organized a full-day event on Finance and Biodiversity on December 14. This offered the global financial community a unique opportunity to participate in discussions, share perspectives, and communicate their actions, achievements, and commitments related to integrating biodiversity into financial decision-making.

Make more impact

The Finance for Biodiversity Pledge is a group of 111 financial institutions that has issued a statement calling on world leaders to agree on a global economic plan to halt and reverse nature loss. But that's not all: the signatories themselves are also committing to taking action on biodiversity. "That's quite remarkable," says Anne-Marie. "We have made the statement reciprocal. We expect this to have a greater impact."

Action plan for nature

The 15th Biodiversity Summit is an international meeting that brings together governments from around the world. Participants set new goals and develop an action plan for nature for the coming decade.
