Context
In this review, we look back on the work of the Financial Sector Community over the past five years and look ahead to the challenges facing the financial sector in terms of climate adaptation in the coming period. What are the current issues, what has been done and achieved, and what else is needed and possible in the near future? This review is the final publication of the Financial Sector Community.
Approach and activities
In 2020, NextGreen, in collaboration with Samen Klimaatbestendig, explored the landscape of the financial sector. Based on some twenty interviews, a report was produced that analyzed the current state of affairs among banks, insurers, and investors. The analysis and the accompanying webinar led to the launch of a Financial Sector Community in 2022, taking the form of an independent working group comprising banks, insurers, real estate investors, government representatives, and knowledge organizations.
